NEET (UG) 2025 Registration News:
Since NEET registrations are usually announced in the month of February, it is expected that the NTA will release the NEET (UG) 2025 registration details around the same time this year.
Last year, the NTA announced the NEET (UG) 2024 registration on February 9, 2024, with the deadline initially set for March 16, 2024

NEET Eligibility Criteria:
Students are requested to read and follow the eligibility criteria that is required for them to apply for NEET.
NOTE: Initially, candidates were required to register using an APAAR ID as a mandatory step for NEET (UG) 2025 registration. Though, this mandate has now been removed. Students can now proceed with their registration as they always have. They would be able to register without the need for an APAAR ID. This change in NTA’s decision provides more flexibility. It also ensures that candidates do not face unnecessary challenges at the time of the application process. The updated registration guidelines will be available on the official NTA website, so candidates are advised to stay informed about any further updates.
- Education Qualification: Candidates must have passed or be appearing for their 10+2 (or equivalent) exam. The required subjects are Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.
- Minimum Marks:
General Category: At least 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology should be scored by students in this category.
SC/ST/OBC Categories: Students belonging to this category require a minimum 40% in the same subjects.
- Age Requirement: Candidates must be at least 17 years old by December 31, 2025 to be eligible.
More to NEET (UG)
In December 2024, the National Testing Agency (NTA) released an official notification regarding the NEET (UG) 2025 syllabus. The PDF confirmed that there are no significant changes in the syllabus, bringing relief to students preparing for the exam.
However, Section B, which was introduced as an additional option during the COVID-19 pandemic, has been removed for the upcoming NEET (UG) 2025 exam scheduled for May 2025. This means candidates will have to attempt all the questions without the extra flexibility that was previously provided.
Additionally, the NEET (UG) 2025 exam will continue to be conducted in the pen-and-paper (offline) mode, following the traditional format used in previous years.
