JEE Advanced 2025: Details for Registration, Examination Date, Eligibility, and more
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, will be conducting the The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025. The authorities have scheduled the JEE Advanced for May 18, 2025. Once the JEE Main 2025 results were declared, candidates who qualified will focus on the next major challenge – JEE Advanced 2025. The performance of the candidate in JEE Advanced will primarily be eligible for admissions under the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). These institutes are among the most reputed institutions across India. The candidates who clear JEE Advanced can secure admissions under various Bachelors degrees, such as B.Tech, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and many others . They can also opt for Integrated Dual Degree Programs (B.Tech + M.Tech).
JEE Advanced 2025 Registration Date
The application process for JEE Advanced will begin from 23rd April 2025, and will continue till 2nd May 2025. IIT Kanpur will release the online application form for JEE Advanced on April 23, 2025.

Candidates are supposed to qualify their JEE mains 2025 (which was held in January 2025), as the JEE Advanced registration process involves authentication utilizing the candidate’s name, date of birth, and JEE Mains 2025 application number. After authentication, candidates can fill their application form, upload the required documents, and pay the application fee. They should also download and print the registration form.
The Admit card will be available from May 11, 2025 to May 18, 2025.
JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility Criteria
The candidates who have qualified JEE Mains 2025 are eligible for JEE Advanced. The candidates must be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (across all categories i.e., in the B.Tech/B.E.) in the JEE Main 2025 to be eligible for JEE Advanced.
The percentages of various categories of candidates to be shortlisted are: 10% for GEN-EWS, 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and the remaining
40.5% is OPEN for all. Within each of these five categories, 5% horizontal reservation is available for PwD candidates.
In addition to this, the candidates should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2024 or 2025. The candidates should also have opted Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. They should secure at least an aggregate of 75% marks (For general category) (An aggregate of 65% marks for SC, ST, and PwD candidates).
The candidates are allowed only a maximum of two attempts in consecutive years. Though, candidates who have dropped out between November 5 and 18, 2024, will be granted a third attempt.
Candidates who want to appear for JEE Advanced should be born on or after October 1, 2000. Candidates who belong to SC, ST and PwD status will be given a relaxation of 5 years.(These candidates should have been born on or after October1, 1995). JEE Advanced 2025 Examination Date
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025 is scheduled for May 18, 2025 by IIT, Kanpur. The examination will consist of two papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2). The duration for both papers will be three hours each.

It is compulsory for candidates to attempt both the papers. Each question paper will consist of three separate sections, viz., Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics. The authorities will conduct the JEE Advanced 2025 examination only in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. To help candidates become familiar with the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode, the authorities strongly advise them to take mock tests regularly. This will allow candidates to understand the exam format. These mock tests are available under the “Resources” section on the website.
Candidates with PwD status having disabilities with at least 40% impairment are eligible for one hour compensatory time for each paper for each paper. Therefore for paper 1, the end time will be 1:00 PM, and for paper 2 the end time will be 6:30 PM. However, for this to apply, PwD candidates must fill out a form during the registration process. This form is to avail the compensatory hour. The authorities have provided additional details here to offer further clarification.
Kindly note that for JEE Advanced application form, there will be no provision to perform corrections past the submission date/deadline. Once the candidates have submitted their JEE Advanced application, editing or performing any type of correction will not be possible.
